Each stage demands specific tools that can cope with SEO tasks: 1) niche research and selection, 2) website optimization and promotion in search engines, 3) website analysis, and 4) website maintenance.

These 4 main SEO tasks defined the functionality of Web CEO and the suggested order of the tools’ usage. Therefore 12 Web CEO tools are grouped in the following 4 functional blocks.

Niche research and selection

* The Keyword tool is used to research popularity of keywords and to pick out topic relevant keywords with the lowest competition and highest demand, i.e. best from the SEO perspective.

* The Optimization tool consists of a built-in page analyzer that gives detailed general and search engine-specific SEO advice, based on white-hat optimization practice, in plain English.

* The Editor tool provides the ability to apply the advice from the Optimization tool in the clear WYSIWYG mode. An instantaneous count of important keyword scores, such as frequency, weight, and prominence, as well as immediate access to the most SEO-critical areas in a page structure make the Web CEO Editor not only an extension to the Optimization tool, but also an educational tool for beginners. In addition, the Editor can edit the existing (or create a new) robots.txt file and a Sitemap.

Website promotion

* The Submission tool has either an automatic or manual submission mode, and can submit website information not only to general-purpose search engines, but also to shopping search engines, press release and news sites, blog directories, communities, and search engines. The website data are submitted as Sitemaps too (created by the Editor tool).

* The Partners tool can be used to find sites related to the website’s keywords or theme and to send an email request for link exchange. Automatic monitoring and reporting of the partner links status is another key feature of the Partner tool.

* PPC (pay per click) Campaigns Manager stores all PPC account information and provides a one-click access to all the important search engines providing PPC services.

Website analysis

* The Ranking tool checks indexed pages and their ranking for multiple keywords in more than 700 search engines with the ranking history saved. The tool features 27 predefined reported data presentations and can provide many more if powerful data filtering capabilities are turned on.

* The Links tool generates detailed reports on incoming links, used link texts, and provides a linking sites overview, while comparing all of this to what competitors experience.

* HitLens is a live visitor tracking system for analyzing site visitors’ behavior patterns, ad campaigns, transactions, and revenue. The tool provides over 120 unique reports with more than 170 variations. HitLens is available as a subscription-based service.

Website maintenance

* The Upload tool uploads optimized pages and other files to the remote server via FTP.

* Auditor is a tool to check a site for broken links , missing images, untitled, old and slow pages, broken anchors, missing Meta tags, and other website quality problems.

* The Site Uptime Monitoring tool provides real-time reports on server performance: connect time, host ping, download time, DNS resolve time, download speed, time-outs, time on error and uptime. It also sends email alerts to website operators in case a site is down or some other alarm trigger is pulled. Site Uptime Monitoring is available as a subscription-based service.

Professional tools

Web CEO has additional tools for search marketing and optimization including functionality critical for professional Web marketers. These functions automate the routine tasks that challenge search engine optimizers every day. They are: Scheduler (can be run in the background to obtain reports automatically at a scheduled time), Dashboard (a report combining key information received from several Web CEO tools), Journal (measures time spent with Web CEO tools working), and the Report Sharing System (a separate light version of HitLens for providing web-based reports to clients while inserting their own logos white label).

Adapted from the Wikipedia article Web CEO, under the G.

If you have an online home biz and your own domain it is highly likely that you make regular changes or add pages to your website. This can be a time consuming procedure at the best of times and if you have just got your own domain or are new to html it can be highly frustrating when you do not see the changes you have made and simply cannot figure out what has gone wrong.

It does not matter how many times you click the Refresh button, the same old web page still appears and you begin to wonder if you saved the changes before uploading your site. In fact you probably go to the trouble of downloading the site again and repeating the process to no avail.

What is cache?

Every time you visit a web page on the internet, your web browser will store a copy of that web page, including images and sounds in the Temporary Internet Files folder. This is often referred to as the cache. You may well notice how quickly a web page loads in your browser the second time you visit it, if you have not cleared your cache. Conversely, once you have cleared your cache, a site will take longer to load the first time round as it has no previous information to access from memory.

How to fix the problem:

The reason that you see your old web page is because your computer memory is still holding the old cache of your website. To overcome this problem in Internet Explorer open your online home biz website in your browser and hold down the Control key on your keyboard and at the same time click the Refresh button in your browser. This will force your b<div

In other words it by-passes the cache in the memory of your computer and immediately your newly changed website should be visible.

How to clear your cache:

It is advisable to clear your cache regularly, not only to prevent your browser from loading out of date information about a site or image but, because cache takes up a lot of disk space and will eventually cause your computer to slow down.

To clear your cache in Internet Explorer 7, simply open a browser, click on Tools, then Internet Options, under Browsing History click Delete and there you will see the options to delete temporary internet files, cookies and history.

You can adjust your settings to automatically clear the cache whenever you close your browser. If you are using IE7, simply go to the Tools menu, and click Internet Options. Click the Advanced tab. In the Settings box, scroll down to the section labeled Security (look for the padlock icon), and click to check the box next to the Empty Temporary Internet Files Folder When Browser Is Closed option. Click OK to finish. This option will clear your cache of other files when you close your browser, but it does not delete cookies.

Clearing your cache may not cure this problem!

Another really frustrating and time consuming problem is that of opening a web site that you visit on a regular basis only to find that you cannot login? You keep getting sent back to the login page with no error messages coming up, like wrong username or password. If you are sure you have entered your correct details, make contact with the webmaster and usually he will be able to advise you of the problem. But, this can be caused when the DNS (Domain name system) provider of a web site is re-configured and using the method to clear cache may not work.

Apparently, some ISP (Internet Service Providers) are slower than others in updating the DNS records and sometimes a DNS change can take quite a while to be recognized by all ISPs. What you can do in this case is contact your ISP provider (Internet Provider) and ask them to put a bypass in to go around their cache engine. You may need to be persistent with this request, as the ISP can be reluctant to do the cache bypass.

Other benefits of clearing your cache:

Depending on how much time you spend on the internet on a daily basis, the temporary internet files or cache can take a few minutes to delete if done daily, but if you leave it and only delete them say once a month, you could be in for a long wait while your computer performs this task.

You may well find that your browser speed and performance increase too after clearing your cache.

When you are running an online home biz it is a great time saver if you clear your cache often, as this will help to keep your computer running smoothly and prevent it from getting bogged down with all the information on the web sites you have visited on the internet. It will also help get rid of unwanted gremlins that can creep into your computer via temporary internet files.

Cynthia Minnaar

Author Bio
Cynthia Minnaar is the owner and webmaster of <a

Choosing a domain is one of the first steps in establishing an online presence. Changing a domain after-the-fact can be time consuming, and can be harmful to search engine ranking, so it is best to get it right the first time around. Follow these simple steps to select a domain name that will represent your online brand…

1. Nice Neighborhood

Stick with .com or .net domains for businesses, .edu for schools, and .org for non-profit organizations. Some search experts say that any other extensions will have a more difficult time ranking well in the search engines.

2. Easy To Verbalize And Understand

Domain names should be easy to verbalize. Often in conversations, similar sounds are difficult to discern. Select a domain name that is clear and easy to understand without having to repeat it.

3. Easy To Spell

Select a domain that is easy to spell. Certain words can be spelled in a variety of ways, and this can cause confusion and result in people being unable to easily locate your website. Use a domain name that is intuitive and easy to spell.

4. Keep It Brief

Shorter domains are easy to remember, so if possible, avoid selecting a domain name that is excessively long. The domain name can not exceed 63 characters, and may consist of letters, numbers, and hyphens. If you decide on a hyphenated domain name, be sure to articulate it so that it is easily understood.

5. More Than One

Domains are reasonably inexpensi

ve, so register multiple domain names that relate to your primary domain name. The additional domains can be permanently redirected to the main domain. Also, purchase domains that use common misspellings, plurals, or that alleviate any confusion. This way you will be sure to capture all of your traffic.

6. Extend It

Protect your brand by purchasing common extensions for your domain (ie. .net, .org, etc). And consider purchasing country extensions if you sell globally (ie. .uk, .au, .fr, etc).

7. Written Form

The written form of the domain should be clear and not cause unnecessary confusion. If the domain contains multiple words, make sure that the written form cannot be misinterpreted.

8. Make It Memorable

Select a domain name that is easy for people to remember.

9. Related And Relevant

The domain name should relate to your core business. Building a brand does not end offline; brand continuity should encompass all aspects of your business, both online and offline. A related relevant domain should reinforce your brand and corporate identity.

10. Check Trademarks

As with any name, be sure to check carefully for trademark infringements. Do not take chances by infringing on another company’s brand. The extra effort might save you from a court case or hours of expensive legal maneuvering. Search the USPTO website at http://www.uspto.gov for any existing trademarks.

11. Brand vs Keywords

Many webmasters struggle with the decision to use a brand as their domain, or to incorporate keywords into their domain name in an effort to rank better in the search engines. The decision does not need to be absolute. Domains are inexpensive, and redirects are easy to set up, so there is no reason you can not purchase both brand and keyword domain names.

12. Location Specific

Unless you only serve a specific region, avoid using the location in the domain name. A geo-specific domain will limit a company’s ability to expand into other regions as it grows.

And before doing anything, use the database at Network Solutions to determine whether a desired domain name is actually available or not.

NetSol – http://www.networksolutions.com

Selecting a domain name is an important step in establishing a web business. Take your time and think carefully about selecting a domain, as it will be the hallmark of your online presence.

Permissions:

Permissions and notification of use not required.

**********************************************************

This article may be used freely in opt-in publications and websites, provided that the resource box is included and the links are active.

The Vulnerability

A recent report posted by Doxpara Research will surely give you some food for thought to think about before you go online to do your daily netbanking transactions. Why? Because if this report is right, then there are strong possibilities that although you would have typed the url address of your bank right on to your browser’s address field, you may be taken to a webpage that has nothing to do with your bank ALTHOUGH it may look pretty much like your bank’s landing page. What are the implications? Simple, you enter in your netbanking login details and the hacker has got everything necessary to hijack your bank account and siphon off your hard-earned funds.

DNS Cache Poisoning

The vulnerability exposed by Doxpara Research is a very serious DNS hack. It takes advantage of the way DNS servers across the internet are configured. Also called as ‘DNS cache poisoning’, here is the brief analogy of what this DNS attack is all about:

Pre-attack: The hacker can only try once every couple of hours to steal your internet connection, and there is but one chance in sixty five thousand chances of him/her succeeding.

Post-attack: The hacker’s chances of stealing your internet connection per initial attempt remains the same, i.e., one in sixty five thousand, BUT now he/she can undertake repeated tries thousands of times per second. It can be easily seen that per attempt success possibilities increases manifold in subsequent attempts.

Solution

This serious threat is not without its s<div

There exists a software patch with must be incorporated into your ISP’s DNS servers. The Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT) is now asking everyone to patch up their DNS servers. Jerry Dixon, an ex-directory of US Homeland Security Department’s cyber security wing, has likened the incorporation of this patch as something akin to what people do increase safety by using seat belts while driving on the roads. As wearing seat-belts is compulsory, so is incorporating this patch.

After applying the patch the hacker is left with but one chance in a couple of hundred million chances (this may run into one in billions of chances) of hijacking your internet connection. Although he/she can still attempt attacks some two thousand times a second, the chances of him/her succeeding is remotely slim, and it will definitely make a lot of noise to alert the DNS server managers.

Vini Chand

Author Bio
Visit us for more of such niche information on Also known as one of the special systems used in naming computers and services that are associated with the use of the Internet, Domain Name System (DNS) is the one responsible for the translation of hostnames of computers to Internet Protocol addresses. In order to do the task efficiently, this system uses several servers known to computer users as DNS servers. By accessing these servers, people can solve the difficulties that they experience when connecting to the Internet. For computer users who are in search for DNS servers, it is best that they follow the simple and easy ways of finding them.

General Instructions for Searching These Servers

Computer users can follow some general steps when searching for several DNS servers. First, they need to use the nslookup tool in their computers in order to easily find these servers. It is also important to use NS in setting the search type of the tool to look for different valid nameservers. Afterwards, type the domain name of the server that users like to find.

Searching for Lincsat Servers and MCDI Servers

When searching for these servers, computer users need to follow the general steps discussed above. However, they should type lincsat.com in the domain name when searching for Lincsat servers and mci.com for MCDI servers. Afterwards, nslookup tool will provide non-authoritative and authoritative answers.

In the case of Lincsat servers, non-authoritative answers that they can find are lincsat.com nameserver â?? ns2.anywarenetworks.com and lincsat.com nameserver â?? ns1.anywarenetworks.com. Meanwhile, non-authoritative answers for MCDI servers include mci.com nameserver = auth61.ns.uu.net, mci.com nameserver = auth310.ns.uu.net, and mci.com nameserver = auth50.ns.uu.net. For those who are interested in authoritative answers for MCDI DNS servers, nslookup tool offers these information; DNS3.mci.com internet address = 199.249.19.2 and DNS4.mci.com internet address = 199.249.18.2.

Searching for Shaw Cable and Comcast Servers

The steps in searching for Shaw Cable and Comcast servers are similar. Following the general steps, nslookup tool will provide non-authoritative and authoritative answers. For instance when finding Shaw Cable servers, answers are as follow: non-authoritative answer â?? shaw.ca nameserver = ns10sc.cg.chawcable.net and shaw.ca nameserver= ns7.no.cg.shawcable.net. Meanwhile, in the case of finding Comcast servers, the tool will provide the following answers: non-authoritative answer â?? comcast.net nameserver = dns02.jdc01.pa.comcast.net, comcast.net nameserver = adns.cmc.comcast.net, and comcast.net nameserver =dns01.jdc01.pa.comcast.net.

On the other hand, for people who are in search for authoritative answers, they can see this information when they search for Shaw Cable DNS servers, ns10sc.cg.shawcable.net internet address = 204.209.208.51. Finally, authoritative answers for Comcast DNS servers are dns01.jdc01.pa.comcast.net internet address = 68.87.96.3 and dns02.jdc01.pa.comcast.net internet address = 68.87.96.4.

Learning the easy and simple steps in finding several DNS servers are helpful for those who usually experience difficulty connecting with the Internet. With the use of nslookup tool, computer users can easily search the servers that they like to use. Having knowledge on this matter can save people time and effort finding solutions for the problems that they usually encounter when they try to use the Internet. Thus, once again, computer users are reminded to carefully follow the general procedures to get the information that they need.

Will Spencer is technology and computer consultant who has written articles like DNS Servers and How They Work as well as Find DNS Servers Info for Tech FAQ web site. />One of the great technological inventions is the WWW. Really, it has revolutionized the way we live and the way we do our day to day works. Its knowledge is of even more greater magnitude. To, just see, it will look like magic but it has taken many people’s hard work and dedication in actually bringing this forth to this world. If WWW would not have existed, then we still would have not called this age modern as we call it now. Truly, it is worthy of never to be completed praises and accolades.

WWW’s full form is the World Wide Web. It is a system of hypertext, interconnected documents which can be accessed through the internet. What a user does is, he goes through the web pages which are the pages on the display that may consist images, text, videos and other multimedia and steers between them with the help of hyperlinks. Sir Tim Berners Lee who was from the United Kingdom and Robert Caillau who was from Belgium invented this World Wide Web in the year 1989. They worked together at CERN in Geneva which is in Switzerland. Ever since, Sir Tim burners Lee has managed to play an important role in directing the expansion of the web standards. One of the major web standards is the markup language. In that the web pages are composed. In recent years, he has given air to his vision of semantic web.

If you want to view a page on the web, then either you can type the URL of that page or you can follow a hypertext link or some resource to that page. Domain name system is the global distributed internet database. It is also known as DNS. It plays an important role by helping the server name part of the URL to be resolved in to an IP address. Then, at that IP address, the browser requests the link by transmitting an HTTP request. The browser first requests an HTML text and then parses it. After that, it makes the request for graphics and other files that are a major part of the page in quick succession. These additional requests of the files are critical because they give air to the difference which exists between a single page view and an associated number of server hits, thus increasing web site popularity statistics across the globe. As described by the HTML programs, CSS and other essential files incorporating the images and other resources necessary, the browser then finally provide the page. Thus, the user is able to view the on screen page, thus bringing immense satisfaction and happiness to the viewer. So, it takes a long procedure and hard work to bring out the one page that user sees. It is not that easy. HTML which is known as Hyper Text Mark Up Language is a major program which helps the text changes, image transformations, videos, songs to be played and all the other major magic like things that happen over a web page on the internet. For example, in a web page, it changes the color of the text, brings various images on the web page, and brings a song to be played on a web page and various other great things. So, it looks like magic to the viewer. Another major programming language is the JAVA. Mostly, it is made use in creating software. For example, the life changing Yahoo Messenger has been made by the help of JAVA because of which we can chat with our distant friends and even talk to them through Yahoo Messenger voice Chat. Thus, WWW is a revolution which happened.

Looking for next web hosting provider? Find the <a

And be sure to read to the end so you can get a free gift which will reveal even more web hosting secrets to you.

How Is A Web Host Different From A Website?

A web host is a company anywhere in the world that stores people’s websites on servers – special computers designed to work with the internet. The web hosting company typically has dozens of servers (some have hundreds), each with dozens of accounts connected to the web at the same time.

Think of a web hosting company like a small town. Each town (web host) has several neighborhoods (servers), each with several houses (websites).

Just like there are great places to live, and real dives that you would hate to raise your family in, you have to be careful about which web hosting company you decide to partner with.

This decision is reversible – but it’s always better to get it right the first time to avoid potential headaches down the road.

Learn Why Free Hosting Services Cost You In The Long Run

The old adage, “You get what you pay for” is very true when it comes to web hosting.

Free web hosting services like GeoCities are great for setting up a family website, or getting the hang of making<div

But the free services often come at an “unadvertised” cost that you shouldn’t be paying as a business owner: advertising other people’s stuff.

Most free services make their money by advertising on YOUR website. In exchange for providing you with space (often very little), you agree to let the company advertise on your site without paying you.

Since you are in business, the only advertising you should have on your site should be ads that pay you.

Also, with many of the free website services, their site building templates can be very confusing. But more importantly, when you try to transfer your website to another host later, you’ll usually find complications.

When your business is growing, the last thing you want to worry about is complications with your website.

Learn How You Can Reduce How Much You Pay For Webhosting

Your online business will require regular investment. Web hosting is no exception to this. However, with such a wide range of prices out there, you should know a few things to avoid paying too much.

First, look for a web hosting company that allows you to have at least 10 domains on one hosting account. Even better – use those that provide unlimited domains.

This feature is even more important than unlimited bandwidth (how much traffic you can handle) or high storage space (how many files your site holds), because with unlimited domains you only pay one monthly fee.

Some hosting companies try to charge you a separate hosting fee for each domain you register. Even at $5/month, that can really add up.

As for space and bandwidth, it is very unlikely that you will come close to filling up the space or using all the bandwidth the hosting companies provide you. Plus, you can always upgrade to bigger servers when the time comes.

All of my websites are either PoweredByHostgator or PoweredByKiosk.

Never Register Your Domain With Your Hosting Company

This may seem confusing at first. However, to maintain control of your website for the life of your business, you should register your website’s domain name (the address you get on the internet) from a separate registrar. This is because if you have your website hosted and registered at one company, and something happens to that company, you may lose everything.

Additionally, most hosting companies will charge more to register your domain than you should pay. Shylar’s Quest and Namecheap are the top online services for serious marketers to register a domain for under $10.

Be sure to make a note of your web hosting company’s “DNS”, which you will need to enter in your domain registrar’s dashboard. If you do not connect these together, no one will ever find you on the internet.

Learn The Main Web Hosting Tasks You Should Know How To Do

You should be comfortable doing the main jobs needed to run your websites, even if you want to outsource them to someone else. If you learn these skills, you’ll avoid paying too much to any person or service provider either now or when you decide to outsource later because you will understand just how much time each of these things take (hint: each of these can be done in less than 15 minutes!).

* Create and manage your own email account

* Registering your own domains

* Set up your web hosting account properly

* Upload and manage your website files and images

* Redirect users to different URLs

* Install a blog, forum, Wiki’s and more, with Fantastico

* Customize your 404 Error Pages

* Create and manage SQL Databases

* Add on multiple domains within one hosting account

* Protect your directories from unauthorized snoopers

* Create and manage Subdomains

* Track your site visitors and errors with Statistics

* How to set up and manage Resell Rights products and sales pages for maximum profit

* Installing a PHP/MySQL Script properly

This list of tasks may seem very daunting to you. However, once you learn them, you’ll save a ton of money. And if your web hosting company uses cPanel(R), then these tasks become even easier.

So there you have it, the core basics of web hosting you need to understand in order to save money and have more control over your internet business.

With this information under your belt, you should be well under $25/month for your web hosting needs. More importantly, you’ll be less likely to be taken to the cleaners by unscrupulous webmasters.

Bob Jenkins is an internet marketing teacher.
