Open your comp, then remove the disk and connect it to annother computer, then backup your data, make sure you have backed up all of your documents. Return the disk to your comp, format disk and install your operating system. Another way is to get Linux find one that can boot without installation ( I have Linux Ubuntu v7.0.4 that can do this), or Hirens boot CD, load "Mini Windows XP" as you can do backup in Windows enviroment, boot up from CD and save your documents to external drive, USB flash disk, or write them on CD, and after backup do installation of operating system.My advice. Get yourself a newer comp, at least Pentium 4 class, because your computer is no longer, as you can see, reliable to work on. Hope I Helped.

I am getting this message on start up.
I dont what windows are installed. I only know a few things which are
1. hard drive is 18gb, all in c drive, i want to preserve my files, so tell something other then re installing windows
2. processor is p3, 700 mhz
3. ram is also quite less, 200 mb
tell me from where should i start
